Caleb ran trough the woods, keeping his pace steady as he listening to a song. For the past two years, since he had come here, he had been doing this run. With time, he had created a path that he followed every day. He ran trough the woods before he got to a small clearing, somewhere in the middle of his path. He had created the habit to stand there for a couple of moments, before heading back home.
He was there at the moment, doing some Tai Chi, with the music still on, oblivious to everything around him.

Dressed in some dark blue soffee shorts, and a white tank top with her hair tied back in a high pony tail, and her iPod placed in an armband, Caity set out for her run with Yankee. It was the first time that she had taken Yankee to this park without having a leash on him. Everything was going good and great until Yankee smelt someone knew in the air around them. He started barking his friendly and curious bark and began to run around, trying to find this new interesting person. Caity tried to re-gain control of Yankee, but when he put his mind to something, there was just no stopping him. Yankee bounded into a small clearing and sat down at the feet of his "prize." He had found someone new, and now he deserved to get a treat. Caity came up to the man not too long after Yankee had. I'm so sorry. She said to him as she took Yankee by the collar to try and get him away and leave the man alone, but Yankee wouldn't budge, apparently he really liked this guy. Caity gave the man a weak smile as she continued to try and make Yankee come back on the trail with her. [/blockquote]

Caleb was in the middle of an exercise when something nudged him in the leg. Pulling out his phones he looked down and saw a black dog, staring up at him and wagging it's tail. He crouched down and petted the dog on the head "Hello little fellow, are you lost?" he asked him as the dog barked.
Hearing some footsteps, he looked up and saw a girl approaching him and apologizing, he smiled "It's ok, I was almost finishing anyways" he said as he watched the girl trying to move the dog, with no success. He laughed "He doesn't seem to want to move. I'm Caleb by the way" he greeted.

Caity laughed a nervous little laugh. Yeah, he seem to think that when he finds a new friend he has to be congratulated. She said crouching down to Yankee and scratching his belly. Hi, I'm Caity She said with a smile as she stood up and lost her balance, almost falling over as Yankee nudged her.Caity sighed and shook her head with a little laugh at Yankee. And this here is Yankee. She said looking to Caleb. He's quite an attention hog. [/blockquote]

"I see" Caleb said with a laugh. He ran his fingers trough his hair as he looked at Caity "I'm sorry, you moved here recently, didn't you?" he asked, not having seen Caity's face around here recently. he knew that if he had seen her, he would remember. She was really beautiful and had the most amazing. Shaking off his thoughts, he smiled as he waited for her to reply

Caity blushed a little, she always got a little nervous when she met new people, or when they started to make assumptions of her. She nodded. Yeah, guessed by never seeing me around before? She asked, that was usually how everyone had thought that she was a new girl in town. I own the animal shelter. She said with a smile, proud of her work. You've lived here long? She asked, striking up the all too familiar conversation. Everyone seemed to have this conversation with each other, but when you were still trying to get the mood of the conversation, there really weren't many other casual questions to ask. [/blockquote]

"Yeah, something like that" he said, feeling very stupid. He was making small talk, for Christ's sake. He nodded when she told him she worked at the animal shelter "Been here for two years now. Still a newcomer to most of the people" he said and then smiled, as an awkward silence fell between the two of them.

Caity smiled. Seems like everyone here is a new-comer... Just a few natives. She said with a weak smile, feeling awkward from the silences. This was the first person she'd met in town outside of the animal shelter, and when you weren't helping them find a dog to adopt, what was there to talk about? [/blockquote]

The young man merely nodded as he considered the fact... some of his friends had been born here, but now that he thought about it, most of them had come, either when they were really young or not. Still, it was funny how the town's population was almost entirely made from people from other places. Still, he had some pretty good reasons for being here...
Glancing at his watch, he noticed that he had been loosing a lot of time. Looking back at Caity, he shot her an apologetic smile "I should get going now, have a trail to finish." he said while glancing back at the trail behind her "But you can tag along, if you want"

Caity shrugged, she and Yankee didn't have anywhere to be all day. Sure, if you don't mind. She said, running after him at a steady pace, Yankee of course running to catch up with Caleb and running along side him. I guess he's just more fun than I am. She thought to herself with a smile. Caleb laughed has the dog tried to catch up with him. It had been a while since he had been around animals. As he ran, he wondered why Caity had moved tho such a small town. It was not a common thing to do. Well, from his point of view it wasn't. He had had pretty strong reasons to come here, but maybe it wasn't like that to everyone--- maybe some had come here just for the heck of it. Still, he diceded not to ask anything to Caity, at least not yet.

Caity ran up to Yankee and Caleb, keeping her focus on the trail in front of her. Yankee went bananas as he saw a rabbit run across the trail. He started barking and chasing the rabbit, scaring it half to death. Caity shook her head and laughed a little bit, keeping her pace up, knowing that once Yankee was done he would come running back to join her. She normally hated silence and thought that it had felt awkward and uncomfortable, but running in silence and listening to the panting and barking of Yankee didn't feel weird at all. She looked at Caleb out of the corner of her eye and decided that he was interesting looking, maybe mysterious, handsome, but interesting, in a good way. So, from guessing that you're not two years old... She said, it kind of just oozing out before she could think about it. Really? Are you trying to be funny? Because it's pathetic. She thought to herself pathetically. Um... where'd you move here from? She asked, hoping he wouldn't dwell on her pathetic attempt to make a joke. [/blockquote]

As the little dog got pulled his little stund, Caleb got a little startled. He wasn't really expecting it to do such a thing. Looking at the owner, he voiced his concern "is he going to be ok?"
Then her almost laughed at her joke, no quite knowing what to think of it "No, I am not... I have been mistaken with one sometimes, but now, think twenty years older, but nevermind "Well, I was born in LA, but my family moved a lot. I came here from California" and now, since the damage was already done, he figured he might as well ask "And what about you? Were did you came from?"

Caity smiled and laughed a little bit as Yankee came running back to them. Oh yeah, he's fine. She said with a smile. LA, huh? She asked, with a smirk. Well that makes two of us. She said, keeping her eyes on him until she almost fell on her face as she tripped over a branch that came out onto the trail. She caught herself and froze, her hands on her hips, and she was laughing. Wow, embarrassing. She thought to herself as she waited for Caleb's reaction.
{OOC: Sorry, I forgot where she came from! haha I'm such a dork}

He was, if anything surprised. What would be the odds of finding someone with the same background as him at a place like this. He had been so immersed in his thoughts that he nearly had an heart attack when he saw her tripping over a branch. He reach over to catch her but as soon as she regain her balance, he held back. He was glued to the spot as she started to laugh and when she did he wasn't sure of what he should do, wondering if he should start laughing, because it had been, after all, funny, or if he should worry. He oped for the late one and quickly moved near her, with concern visible in his eyes "Caity, are you alright?"
[OOC: lol, I was the same... had to check with his bio to remember]

Caity looked up to Caleb and nodded, with tears streaming from her eyes. Tears that were partly from laughing so hard, and partly from being scared she was going to get hurt. She looked him in the eyes with a big grin on her face and big, alert eyes. Oh, yes, I'm fine, just obviously clumsy. She said as she shook out her legs and stepped further away from the branch that she had tripped over. Sorry to scare you. She said, reading the concern in his eyes. She didn't mean to frighten the poor guy half to death.[/ blockquote]

He exhaled heavily once he learned that she wasn't hurt, then smiled a little with the clumsy comment. His sister had given him that loads of times... he wondered how she was doing, not that he should after all.
It was his turn to laugh when she apologised "Scare me? You didn't scare me. You full on gave me an heart attack!

Caity wiped what was left of the few tears off of her cheeks. I'm so sorry. She said, the smile disappearing from her lips. I really didn't mean to. She horribly bad for giving Caleb a scare. She looked down to Yankee who was panting and looking back and forth between the two, wondering why they had stopped from their run. She kept her eyes at Yankee, waiting for Caleb's response. talking about screwing up big time Caleb he said, kicking himself mentaly. "Hey, I was joking" he said placing a hand on her shoulder, but removing it as soon as he realized his gesture "I'm glad you didn't fall and got hurt, that's all"

Caity sighed and looked up. Okay, well, I'm still sorry. She said with a slight smile. So, you wanna keep running? She asked, wanting to forget the past few minutes of their conversation, it was just embarrassing. She looked to him with a convincing smile and then looked down to Yankee. She gestued to Yankee and took off running, looking back to Caleb. Come on slow poke! She said in attempt to make the mood lighter. [/blockquote]
