Talan jumped out of his car, slammed the door and then ran into the barn he looked around for Megan, but he couldn't find her. Maybe she's out on the trails. He thought to himself. He ran out to the head of all the trails and yelled out her name. He couldn't run down every trail in hopes of finding her. He didn't know who else to talk to, and well, he just could't stand to be away from her. He told himself she was just a friend, but he knew he liked her more. He didn't know why he was dating Leah, he had just met her, and she had already told him that she loved him?! That wasn't okay with him, he wanted to have fun, he wanted to be able to not care. He wanted someone like, someone like, Megan! He yelled out, chasing after a girl that he thought was Megan, he turned her around. I'm so glad I found you, I really have to talk He stopped talking as the girl looked at him with frightened eyes. Oh, I'm sorry. He said letting her go and stepping backwards, turning around in circles, trying to find a sign of where Megan could be. [/blockquote]

Megan had been in the round pen working with Noble, the friesian cross. He was a big horse and needed to be exercised a lot, but due to the lameness he had about a week ago he didn't get any. So once he healed she deided to work with him for a bit today. She was lunging him in the pen at a gorgeous canter. Megan clucked at him to make him go faster. He didn't need a whip for him, especially since he hadn't been exercised. He had a bunch of energy he needed to be released. When Megan heard her name called she began to panic, hoping nothing bad happened to one of the horses or something. She slowed Noble down and unlatched the lunge line then attached the lead rope to his halter. She quickly exited out the round pen and found Talan calling her name. Talan what is it?! She said in a paniced voice, hoping nothing was wrong.

Talan turned around to face Megan, his expression now filled with relief. Then he saw the expression on Megan's face, panicked and worried. He looked down, beginning to apologize. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to over-react and to panic you... He said a little bit ashamed, she was probably busy and he probably ruined something that she was in the middle of. I just need to talk to you, that's all. He said with a weak smile, now looking at her, he remembered why he could never get her off of his mind. What am I doing? This is ridiculous, she doesn't like me, she will never like me... I need to just shut up! He thought to himself, with a weak, pathetic smile still plastered to his face as he waited for Megan to say something to him, hopefully getting to know her mood or something before he began. A sense of relief passed over Megan when Talan let her know there was nothing wrong or anyone in danger. She patted Noble who began to shake his head, impatient for standing there in the sun. He snorted and continued anyways. Megan pulled down on the lead rope, forcing him to stop. She looked back at Talan. That's ok. What's going on? She thought, thinking he wasn't working today. There was no need and he had done a good enough job the last time they talked. She kept looking at him with a confused look on her face as she noticed his pathetic grin.

Talan looked to Noble and sawthat he seemed uncomfortable sitting there in the sun. If you need to put him away or whatever, then you can... He said with a smile tipping his cowboy hat down to keep the sun from glaring in his eyes. It's not dier or anything, I'll wait if you need to finish exercising him or anything... Talan said, feeling bad that he had pulled her away from her work. He knew he shouldn't have... Stupid... Stupid... Stupid... [/blockquote]

Megan didn't want to leave until she knew what was going on, but she also didn't want to be interrupted continuously by the large black horse. She nodded. His paddock is right over there. She said and began leading him to the paddock. She opened the gate with the greeting of two other geldings and unlatched the halter. Noble trotted off to go find some food. He was the dominate one in the paddock. Megan hung the halter on the railing and closed the gate then walked back over to Talan. She put her hands on her hips and pulled the sunglasses down onto her face. What is it? She asked, looking at Talan.

Talan nodded as thoughts were swimming through his head of what he was going to say to Megan, when she had come back to him and asked him what was up, he still had thought of nothing to say, well, sure he had plenty to say, but he couldn't just blurt it out and tell her how he felt. Leah told me she loved me. The words flying out of his mouth, he could do nothing to stop them. He stuffed his hands in his pockets and kicked the dirt. He couldn't handle it, they had been dating for two days, and this had to be the relationship with the most drama that he had ever been in. He looked back up to Megan to see what she would say, hopefully she didn't freak out or anything. He felt dumb for coming here, but he didn't know where else to go, and he loved it here, with Megan. Megan waited for him to say something and as she did she put her hair up in a ponytail so the breeze would blow it in front of her face. She listened to him and remembered their conversation just yesterday on how he had a girlfriend. She sighed. Well do you love her back? She asked. Her thoughts turned to whether or not he liked her, which she had told him yesterday would be hard due to the amount of work she had. But she would listen before making any predictions.

Talan shook his head. I've known her for two days... He said, realizing how ridiculous it was. He wanted to tell her that the whole time he couldn't stop thinking about her, but he couldn't. Not right now. I didn't know what to say, I told her I had to come here, and I just left... He said, it had really freaked him out. The last time he had told somebody he loved them, was with Courtney, and they had only said it to each other a year after they had started dating. Granted every couple was different, but just after two days? What had he gotten himself into. He shook his head and sighed, lifting up the brim of his hat a little so he could see Megan better. He wiped some sweat away from his forehead and squinted his eyes, trying to shield them a little from the sun. [/blockquote]

Megan pointed her head to the barn. Let's go inside and talk about it. She said, beginning to walk up to the barn. She unlocked the main office door and sat down at the table and leaned on it. She watched Talan. Want my opinion? She asked, not wanting to hurt him in any way. That's a bit ridiculous. She said, twiddling her thumbs together on the table. She didn't know what else to tell him. She wasn't too good at giving advice and helping people out.

Talan followed her to the barn and leaned against the wall, with his arms crossed and one foot up on the wall, helping to support him. Absolutely. He said, his answer to her question about him wanting her advice. He listened, and then frowned a little bit. You think I'm being ridiculous, or she is? He asked, hoping that he wasn't the ridiculous one here, because he didn't think he was being ridiculous at all. He was just freaked out. He didn't want a need clingy girl... He wanted to be able to have fun! Especially before all this "love" stuff came in. [/blockquote]

Megan leaned back on the chair she was sitting in and cross one leg over the other. She noticed her jeans were covered in dust, probably by the round pen when she was working with Noble. She quicklyl swiped her hand across her thigh, wiping some dust off. Then she looked back up at Talan and crossed her arms across her chest. Well I don't want to be bias but I would have to agree with you that she doesn't love you after only two days. She said with a little chuckle at the end. She tried her best not to give away her emotions.

Talan nodded. Well, yeah, I know that... But I don't know what I'm supposed to do about it. He said, all he could do was walk away from her. He didn't know what to say to her. He didn't think that he could possibly be in a relationship with her when she loved him after two days? He shook his head, took off his cowboy hat and looked to Megan. She looked so pretty surrounded by everything that she loved, that she lived and worked for. He couldn't help but to respect her for that. He had never done anything for his whole life, except be a brother and a son. Now, he had a nephew that was 5 years old, and it was one of the longest relationships that he had had. He knew why, He just couldn't understand how to overcome it and stick with something, be there for people, or let people in. [/blockquote]

Megan sighed a little. She hated helping people through their relationships and their personal lives. It really wan't her thing and she didn't even know much about relationships anyways. She looked at him again. Talan you do whatever you think is right. She said. Whatever your heart decides. Megan didn't understand why he had come to her to ask this. But it was a small town and it was possible he didn't know too many people yet.

Talan smiled at Megan and nodded. Yeah, that's what I figured, but... He said, stopping himself. He couldn't continue. I guess I should maybe go talk to her? He asked hesitantly, not really wanting to leave Megan and the barn, he was comfortable here, here, with her... [/blockquote]

Megan nodded a little and smiled innocently at him. She hoped she helped but was doubtful that she did. He seemed sad about it but what else could Megan do? She didn't know where his heart lied right now and she wouldn't until he came out clean with her. But for now he had to deal with it with himself. Sometimes relationships would never last and so why start it when you're doubting it at the very beginning. She wanted to tell him that too but she didn't want to discourage him.

Talan looked at Megan, trying to read her. How am I supposed to break it off? He said a little bluntly, not really sure if he should have asked her that question, but he didn't really think about the question before it oozed out of his mouth. He couldn't stay with Leah, and he knew it, he was doubting it, and he had never had to break off a relationship before... He didn't exactly know how to go about it. Wow, his first break up. Megan looked up at him almost immediately after he asked her the awkward question. How should he break up with he? She thought to herself. Wow he's really serious about this. She gave a silent sigh and stood up from her chair. She walked up to Talan and looked at him. She didn't know what to say. No one had ever broken up with her and she had never broken up with someone else. But she had her ideas. Talan just tell her from your heart. She said. She still didn't know him as well as she would've hoped but she still tried to get to know him best she could. Don't be afraid to tell her how you feel. She said and patted him on the shoulder, giving him a grin.

Talan nodded. Yeah, I guess I could try that. But I don't want to be a jerk, and I'm afraid that once I see her, or she starts getting upset or something, that I'll back out because I don't want to be mean. I've never broken up with anyone before1 He said, the last part sort of slipping out of his mouth before he could think about it. His eyes got a little big, surprised at what he had said to Megan. But then he relaxed. He remembered how comfortable he felt around her, and how he didn't have to pretend to be someone he wasn't, including a big tough player dude who has had millions of girlfriends. [/blockquote]

She smiled and put her hands on each of his shoulders. Megan looked at him with a grin on her face. She probably smelt like horse but she didn't care right now, and she didn't think he did either. Talan, I'm not the one to ask. She said and patted both his shoulders then let go and crossed her arms. But all I can say is to tell her how you feel. She repeated herself from before. Believe that you will get through it.
