Talan walked out onto the trails with Cisco, the first horse that had caught his attention, which just so happened to be the first one he saw. He didn't know how to do all that fancy riding or anything, but Talan knew the basics, and he figured that was all that really counted for exercising. He looked around for Megan, maybe he would see her, maybe he wouldn't...

Megan had tacked Dreamer up in an english saddle. He used to be ridden in Australian but she didn't have one of those saddles. English was just as good plus Megan was a big time english rider. She walked Dreamer out of the barn and mounted. She brought along a crop as she figured he would need it. He was a lazy boy sometimes. She stuffed it in the opening between the saddle and the pad until she needed it. She walked around on him getting the feeling of him before picking up a nice trot. There were so many trails back in here. She wondered if Talan had turned to the trails of the arenas, but she spotted him on Cisco. She smiled and trotted up to him in her posting trot. She slowed Dreamer down to a walk when she reached him. So you chose Cisco huh? She asked, double checking his grooming and tacking job. She wasn't sure how experienced he was with riding.

Talan nodded to her and tipped his hat when he saw her coming. Yea, he was the first one to catch my eye. He said with a shrug as he saw her checking out the horse. Hey! I may not be a pro at jumping or anything, but I know how to ride and I definitely know how to tack up! He said defending himself with some playfulness in his voice as well. [/blockquote]

Megan noticed that Talan had caught her double checking of everything. She laughed at him, knowin he was just teasing. Well I just want to make sure. She told him. Megan eyed a nearby jump but figured none of them were warmed up. She looked at Talan and then nudged Dreamer to canter. Of course, he was too lazy and just sped up a walk. She kicked him multiple times before he got to a decent canter. She loved being on the back of a horse.

Talan shook his head. You always gotta be showin off! He yelled after her before letting Cisco into a trot, just go with the flow, go with the flow. Talan thought to himself, he was comfortable just doing whatever and didn't feel the need to keep up with Megan or show off to her. He figured she was the kind of girl who didn't want to get caught just yet, and he was just fine with that... Maybe.. [/blockquote]

Dreamer had a horrible canter. It was bumby and slow and annoying. But Megan figured he was a bit out of shape anyways. She slowed him down to a walk and patted his neck. Then she turned around to face Talan and halted. She saw his trot and giggled a little. Cisco had a great trot and he had definitely chosen the right horse for that. Come on get that horse movin! She yelled and then spun around again. She continued to walk with Dreamer.

Talan smiled. As you wish! He yelled up to Megan before pushing Cisco into a canter, when he was a little ways behind Megan, and ready to pull up next to her and past her, he spoke out to her I figured you didn't want to be caught! He said with a grin before he passed her and went further down the trail, looking back at a still walking Megan. [/blockquote]

Megan rolled her eyes. If he's trying to show off, he's not doing too well of a job. She thought to herself. She pushed Dreamer into a canter and was away from Talan and Cisco but close enough so he could see. Megan had to constintly kick Dreamer to keep him moving but she had been riding ever since she was little. She had a lot of muscles in her legs. She continued cantering before approaching a small log jump. She kicked Dreamer and he jumped it right where Talan would be able to see. Then Megan passed the two laughing. She never slowed down and soon came upon an open field.

Talan laughed as he watched her pass him and Cisco. He saw a jump ahead and pulled Cisco down to a walk and then to a stop. He dis-mounted himself and backed up a little bit from the jump to get a running head start. He ran a little bit before "leaping" over the jump, arms and legs flailing through the air, he landed quite strongly on his feet and threw his arms up in the air with a great big, TA-DAH!!! Then he bowed a little bit and turned back to Cisco, walked him over the jump, and then re-mounted himself and moved his way on over to Megan. Can ya beat that?! He asked with excitement and pride in his voice. [/blockquote]

Megan had halted Dreamer and spun around to see what Talan had up his sleeves. She tilted her head in a bit of confusion when she saw him dismount. As he ran towards the jump she began laughing and even snorted a little bit. She covered her mouth with one of her hands. She watched as he jumped over a horse jump. His tah-dah got the best of her and she began to laugh histarically. She wrapped her arm around her tummy since her laughing made her tummy hurt. She made sure Cisco was going to stay put which he did. When he re-mounted Megan was still laughing. Talan... you've got talent!!! She giggled and spun Dreamer back around and began walking a little bit.

Talan nodded. Thanks, I know, I've got some major skills and you're just jealous! He said with a little laugh, it felt good to have fun with a girl for once. His eyes stayed on her, watching her as she walked. A smile came across his face as he watched her.

Megan continued to walk on Dreamer. Dreamer had a great strut. His hips swing and that was one reason why Megan enjoyed riding him. His walk was more than just a boring slow pace. She glanced over her shoulder and noticed his smiling. She smiled back. You comin' cowboy? She laughed, teasing a bit. I mean... he definitely wasn't a cowboy. I can't decide. She thought to herself. I don't know if I like him or not.

Talan seemed shocked a little bit. Oh, what? So now I'm worthy enough to be a cowboy? He said with sarcasm in his voice. So you take back over looking my tack job and not believing that I could do it on my own? He asked with a slight laugh in his voice.

Megan listened to him as she continued to walk. As he finished she halted on Dreamer and spun him around. She looked at Talan and grinned. No. She quickly said then turned Dreamer back around and continued walking. The loop they were on would soon end and she didn't know if that was a good thing or bad. She quickly patted Dreamer on his long brown neck.

Talan hung his head in disappointment. Ouch. He said before picking his head up and looking at her with a little grin on his face. So what would make me worthy then, your highness? He said with sarcasm in his voice, but not mean sarcasm. [/blockquote]

Dreamer began to trot without command but Megan let him. He was lazy afterall anyways so it would be good for him. She slowed him back down to a walk when Talan finally caught up to her and Dreamer. She looked at him after his comment and rolled her eyes and looked away again. He was a goofy kid but not really for her. She shook her head not bothering to answer his ridiculous question.

Talan shrugged his shoulders. Alright, guess not. He said in a low murmur. He saw the barn ahead and realized that the trail was coming to an end... Bummer, Talan had fun with Megan, well, so far. She was a great friend and fun to hang out with. It was nice to have a girl friend, like a friend that was a girl for once. [/blockquote]

Megan had thought the whole time they were riding together about something and it was time she needed to know. There was a little bit of silence. All you could hear was the horses' hooves hitting the ground. Megan looked at him with a smile. Talan you seem like the kind of kid that would have a girlfriend. She made it not into a question. She figured it would be better that way so that if he didn't he wouldn't start assuming that she liked him, because she didn't.

Talan shrugged. Well, what makes you think that? I mean, right now I do, we started dating yesterday. Why? Talan asked, wondering what about made him seem like "the kind of guy with a girlfriend." This was only his second girlfriend, granted he dated his first girlfriend for three years, but still... He felt really awkward during the silence while waiting for Megan's answer and heard the clomping of the hooves, the sound drummed inside his head. [/blockquote]

Megan suddenly regretted ever asking him. Why? How would she even answer that question? Because honestly, her herself didn't even know the answer to it. Curiosity it was she figured. She hated the silence and wished she had never asked him in the first place. But at least they were almost to the barn and she would be able to go home for the day and spend some time with Tango and maybe Brian, if he was even home. Just curious that's all. She grinned and shrugged her shoulders. Yesterday? O well, she convinced herself she didn't like him and she had told herself earlier that she was too busy to get caught up in a relationship, now she just had to convince herself of that.
