Name: Superior's Ruling Princess (Princess)
Age: 10
Gender: Mare
Breed: Dutch Warmblood
Color: Bay
Height: 16.2 hh
Temperment: 4
Disciplines: Jumping, Eventing, Dressage
Description: Princess is a very loving and affectionate mare, that loves to please her rider by giving everything she’s got. She loves to work and won’t quit until her rider says so. She is a 16.2 hh Dutch Warmblood out of the DUtch Warmblood Eastern Ruler and a thoroughbred mare, Justin's Choice. Princess will be 10 in June, but she still has many, many years of excellent performance and companionship left in her. She has a white star with connecting stripe and snip on her face, as while as 2 white hind socks. Princess has competed in local hunter/jumper and dressage completions this past summer, and in many local jumping and dressage clinics off property. Princess has competed up to 3' 3" and up until October of last year, had been schooling up to 4'. During this past winter, jumping was put on hold, so as to focus more on her dressage work. At the age of 6 she spend 6 months out west in Manitoba for some basic dressage training. She has worked under my dressage coach from Florida, in some basic movements such as leg-yields, half-passes, shoulder-in’s and simple flying lead changes. Princess has 3 lovely gaits, and is always on the bit, in a beautiful collected frame. Princess has competed in a few local 3-day-events this past summer, and she showed great enthusiasm for cross-country during that faze of the competition. Princess is a very confident horse, provided her rider feels the same. If her rider believes that she isn’t going to jump a jump, then she won’t. Not because she is scared of the jump, but because her rider didn’t give her the confidence she needed to complete that obstacle. Princess will jump anything that she is pointed at with a boldness that screams how excited and willing she is to be going over it. Princess is best suited for an intermediate to advanced rider. She could be good for a beginner, if in a lesson atmosphere because she has never had that kind of experience with a beginner rider. She is very calm and collected when off property, but she does like to look around so she can fully understand what is expected of her. She is excellent at loading and unloading in the trailer. She will load into anything you point her at. She stands great for the vet and farrier. She ties for bathing and at the trailer at shows. She has always been accustomed to a roomy box stall, but has lived in a standing stall before, and is quite content with those as while. She is good when being clipped and stands when being braided. She enjoys being groomed, and is very well behaved when being tacked up for a ride. Princess is very respectful of her handler in and out of her stall and in and out of her place of turn out. She tends to fall in the middle of the pecking order when turned out with more then 1 horse, as she is currently out with 4 others, and she is quite content with minding her own business and eating her hay in peace. She also blankets well, and doesn’t rip them. She has no vices. She doesn’t crib, weave, kick or bite. She doesn’t buck or rear under saddle. She is very well behaved in and around the barn, and under saddle. She bridles very well, always opening her mouth in acceptance to the bit. She respects spurs when they are used correctly and for the right reasons. She does not need to be ridden with a dressage whip, or crop of any kind. She does not like them, and tends to get tense and jumpy whenever ridden with one. THIS IS HER ONLY VICE. Princess has great potential to excel in dressage, hunter/jumper or eventing. She has competed in all 4 of these areas of discipline, and has done well in them all. She has competed as high as Training level cross country, with the potential to go higher. Princess would also make an excellent dressage horse because of her beauty and movement under saddle. She has started on basic movements and is doing well. As for her as a jumper, she could also go far in this area of riding because of her willingness to jump and her cautious, yet scopey way of picking the best possible point to jump so as not to knock a rail. She has good auto changes between jumps, and excellent balance. This amazing horse, could excel in any area of English riding.
